101 in 1001

I’ve started blogging a few times over the years, but it’s never stuck.  Mostly because I really haven’t been in the right place in my life to start something like this.  I’ve never been in a place to commit to brainstorming posts, writing and being creative in general.  But my life has slowed down and I actually have too much free time for the first time since, well, high school I guess.  And I am in serious need of a creative outlet.  A place to write on a daily basis and be held accountable.  So, here it is.  I purchased a URL and everything so this is serious.

I’d like to start things off with my 101 in 1001, a pretty classic blogger move I’d say.  Thank you to Design Darling and Bows & Sequins for the idea.  I’ve never been much for New Years Resolutions.  Probably because I’m not a huge fan of New Years to begin with.  Anything I come up with usually fades into the background around Valentines Day.  But the idea of this list really intrigued me.  Because of the length, it wouldn’t just be about losing weight, cutting out sugar, or putting myself out there (ugh).  I could include things I’ve always wanted to do and places I’ve wanted to go.  3 years is a long time which gives me the opportunity to be optimistic about what could be accomplished.  And I definitely forced myself to be optimistic about this (see, falling in love).
Since leaving my beloved DC, I’ve been in quite the funk and therefore I’m using this list, and this blog really, to climb back to happiness, confidence, and je ne sais quoi.  I’ll be trying new things, new foods, and new workouts; documenting them here for all to see.  Hopefully, along the way I’ll find my niche (thanks for the blogging tips Carly).  I can already tell you it will probably involve food, but I’m open to new things this year.

So join me!  Make your own list or just watch me try to complete mine.  I promise it will be entertaining.
