I am so excited to announce that I will be attending The University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine as a part of the MD Class of 2022! For those of you that have known me for a while you know how long I have been working towards this dream. It has not been easy and I came close to giving up so many times. But through hard work, a grueling interview season, and a whole lot of prayer I am finally here!

I have wanted to be a doctor since I was a kid, but it took a long time for me to truly develop a passion behind that childhood desire. I went through undergrad unmotivated and then went on to a masters degree that I hoped would give me a way into the healthcare field without medical school. But during that program I craved the clinical aspect of healthcare. I wanted to be the doctors I worked with at the Children’s Hospital and even the medical students I worked with in the international health office. I knew it was how I could serve my community while being challenged every day.
I don’t want to get in too deep on this post about how I got into medical school. I’ll save that for another time if people are interested in my roundabout journey. I am just so excited and grateful for this amazing opportunity.
Thank you to every one that has supported me during all the phases of this journey. Sometimes I wasn’t the best person to be around. Bad MCAT scores make for a bad friend. But my family and friends stuck with me through all the bad and all the good. There were plenty of anxious phone calls, wine nights, and support sessions. I would not have had the confidence to go through this application cycle without my tribe cheering me on. So thank you so so much to everyone that made this dream a reality. I can only hope that I make you proud!
Here’s to working hard to go back to school to work even harder. And to Florida girls finding their way back home. Oh, and crossing another thing off my 101 in 1001!
I fully intend to keep the blog going through medical school as my creative outlet and hobby. Hopefully I’ll be able to share how I eat well, maintain my mental health, and stay fit through the next four hectic years!
